Renner Committee Tops $391,000 in February Haul

As he prepares to become House speaker after the 2022 elections, a political committee led by Rep. Paul Renner, R-Palm Coast, raised $391,500 in February, according to a newly filed finance report.

The committee Conservatives for Principled Leadership had nearly $535,000 on hand as of Feb. 28. The committee spent only $8,756 during the month.

Renner represents all of Flagler County and portions of Volusia and St. Johns. Except for two $1,000 contributions from Ponte Vedra residents, none other among the dozens recorded in the last filing period were from Volusia or Flagler.

Large contributions included $50,000 from Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, a beverage distributor; $25,000 from Gulfstream Park Racing Association; $25,000 from Surterra Therapeutics, a medical-marijuana firm; and $25,000 from FanDuel, Inc., a fantasy-sports and gambling company. Renner, who chairs the House Rules Committee, is in line to succeed House Speaker Chris Sprowls, R-Palm Harbor, next year.

Republicans don’t help people; they help their business donors. No more Republicans, please. How many are dead in Florida because “business” was the priority, not lives?

      Re: House Rep. Paul Renner:

There will be no justice, no democratic representation for the people of Florida or the entire country
until we get money out of politics.
Our nation is at peril even when we pass legislation that only hints at reformation. Our country has to
acknowledge this cancer and pass productive legislation eliminating all money from politics.
Our country cannot have politicians owned by corporations and wealthy individuals !

You’re 100% Deborah. Read this; then ask yourself when you agreed with what Renner has done TO us.

Understanding Renner and politics, we must acknowledge that most politicians aren’t intelligent, at all!
However, they do have the dollars from the wealthy and corporations that stand in line, awaiting their rewards.

We the people must get money out of politics and the sooner the better.

      @”…most politicians aren’t intelligent…”

When you begin wrong – you end wrong.

Renner is very well educated, highly intelligent, and accomplished:

From the aforementioned link – Renner Bio: “…Former President, Jacksonville Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society…”

      So what? So this:
      https://www.google.com/search?d&ei=D89MYIr5M8eKwbkPzbS3kA8&q=federalist+society+citizens+united&oq=federalist+society+ctizens&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAEYADIGCAAQFhAeOgcIABCwAxBDOgcILhCwAxBDOg0ILhDHARCvARCwAxBDOgIIADoFCCEQoAE6BggAEA0QHjoKCCEQChCgARCLA1DaQFieggFg4LIBaAFwAngAgAHWAYgBzAiSAQUyLjYuMZgBAKABAaoBB2d3cy13aXrIAQq4AQLAAQE&sclient=gws-wiz

I completely agree with you about the harm done by the system of institutionalized bribery that prevails. But it exists because highly intelligent, well educated people created it, and defend it; with cynical and ruthless determination. And more money than God.
