Flagler and Palm Coast Rainfall Totals Soak Up to 11.75 Inches in One Area

After relatively dry months in February and March, April brought significant improvements, with about an inch more rain by month’s end than at the same time last year. May is producing good, sustained rain falls, too. That’s necessary, because the region began the month in drought conditions, according to the Climate Prediction Center, but with some improvements in the drought situation between now and July.

The last 48 hours have produced especially strong rainfalls. The tireless Bob Pickering, a technician in Flagler County’s Emergency Management and the county’s weather guru, gathered and released the following totals, much of it with help from Sywarn volunteers across the county.

In April, the coldest temperature recorded at the county’s Emergency Operations Center in Bunnell was 53 degrees on April 24. The warmest temperature was 89 degrees on April 19.
