At approximately 10:37 p.m. on Thursday May 9, an unknown white man, about 6 foot tall, thin build, wearing khaki pants, black t-shirt and a gorilla mask similar to those on Planet of the Apes approached an individual at an ATM machine at the Sun Trust Bank at 323 Moody Blvd in Flagler Beach, and demanded his money.
The victim was startled by the man in the monkey suit. The victim, according to a sheriff’s office news release, reacted by punching the suspect on the left side of his head or face. The victim believes he may have injured the suspect, who may now have a black eye or other bruising on the left side of the face, according to the release.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Det. L. Williams at 386/585-2626 or Sgt. B. Shamp at 386/931-8284 of the Flagler Beach Police Department. The news release also asks for information about anyone “who may own a similar mask.”

Didn’t Chief Cody say they only have crime on the weekends when people from out of town come to the beach? Let the S.O. take over and get rid of F.B.P.D. all they do is sit around and eat.

Was there actual video of this event? Sounds like the whole thing was made up to me…..otherwise, we would likely see some evidence that it actually happened other than one man’s accounting. Is it just me?
