SWAT Called Out to Buffalo Grove Drive Domestic Situation

August 5, 2012 | FlaglerLive | 8 Comments

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT team was called out to 53 Buffalo Grove Drive Sunday morning, where a domestic disturbance unfolded after 7:30.

The SWAT team was called out of precaution, because James White, who eventually surrendered and was arrested, was believed to own several weapons in the house. Also, he was drunk. Family members left the house, but White initially refused to surrender. Negotiations continued for two hours, when he relented.

The situation ended just after 9:30 a.m., Debbie Johnson, the sheriff’s office’s spokeswoman, said. Several guns along with ammunition, bows, arrows and knives were removed from the home.

White, 52, was arrested and booked into the Flagler County jail. He was charged with domestic violence-assault, battery involving domestic violence, and resisting arrest without violence.

Thank you. Because of you, we’ve reached and exceeded our $10,000 goal—and that’s no small thing. It’s a powerful show of support for independent, local journalism. With your continued help, we’re hoping to match (and, if possible, exceed) last year’s contributions of nearly $13,000 before 2026 greets us. Asking tough questions is increasingly met with hostility. The political climate—nationally and right here in Flagler County—is at war with fearless reporting. Officials and powerbrokers often prefer echo chambers to accountability. They want news that flatters, not news that informs. They want stenographers. We give them journalism. After 16 years, you know FlaglerLive won’t be intimidated. We dig. We don’t sanitize to pander or please. We report reality, no matter who it upsets. Even you. Imagine Flagler County without that kind of local coverage: no one sitting through long meetings, no one connecting the dots, no one asking the follow-up questions others won’t. Decisions would be made in the dark, with fewer eyes watching and fewer facts reaching the public. Silence would be easier—for them. But standing up to this kind of pressure requires resources. It requires a community that values courage over comfort. Stand with us, and help us hold the line. Fund the journalism they don’t want you to read. There’s no paywall—but it’s not free. Take a moment and become a champion of enlightening journalism. Any amount helps. FlaglerLive is a 501(c)(3) non-profit news organization, and donations are tax deductible.

The NRA & the ‘oh but there’s so, so few insane people with a house full of guns’…people are working on my last ‘2nd Amendment RIGHT ‘ speech nerve.

And women/ domestically abused//threatened women… don’t enable these idiots. Take all those guns, and if you can, sell or get $50 each from FCSO. Like the old saying…you need this guy like a fish needs a bicycle’…plenty sane guys out there.

GREAT that this situation was stopped in its tracks by a brave woman who called 911.

So many & some in Palm Coast … waited too long to blow the whistle on their crazy partner.

Kudos and keep on keeping on to the woman in this situation. May she be the ‘canary in the coal mine’ to other readers of this story.

Gun’s do not make people crazy. People are crazy on their own. —- “Proud retired military, lawful and concealed weapons permit holder” I might just save yours or a family members life someday from a violent crime….you never know. I would rather carry and have that option in my deck of cards….

Well Bonnie, just because you and Clyde had a falling out doesn’t mean all men are insane gun owners. Besides my wife owns 4 guns herself and she’s not insane. She does however, sometimes gets an attitude and knocks me in the head with her shoe. Should I have her arrest for Domestic Violence and have the FCSO steal her guns too ?

NRA is not a “men’s only” organization. Women who feel domestically abused and threatened have equal rights to own and use guns.

btw: the warning from the canary in the coal mine is that it dies . I would not wish this on any woman, but instead to educate and empower themselves with their Civil Liberties. And a Glock.
