Bunnell’s Michael Davis, 22, Arrested on Rape Charge Involving 15-Year-Old Boy

Michael Anthony Davis, a 22-year-old resident of Peach Street in Bunnell, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of raping a 15-year-old boy, a first degree felony.

Davis was arrested at his home on 311 South Peach Street, the same street in Bunnell where the incident took place. Davis was arrested at 4:36 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim’s mother had gone into his room to check on him, but noticed him acting strange, according to Davis’s arrest report. She also noticed an open window in the bedroom. She proceeded to close it. As she did so, she noticed Davis hiding by the side of the bed, naked. Davis was considered a family friend.

When she took the covers off her son’s bed, she noticed him naked as well. At that point, according to the report, the alleged victim told her that the two had had oral sex. The mother kicked Davis out and called 911.

The alleged victim would later tell police that Davis had knocked on his window, telling him he wanted to talk to him. He let him in. As they were siting on his bed, Davis, the boy said, began touching him on the stomach then his groin before performing oral sex on him. The alleged victim said he didn’t know what to say to Davis, so he said nothing. Davis stopped when they heard the boy’s mother’s door open. He said when she found them in the room, “they both had clothing on.”

Davis told Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies and Bunnell police that the boy’s mother had let him into the house so he could play video games with the boy, and that there had been no sexual contact. When police examined the room, however, they found no video game system. When Davis was asked if he would provide a DNA sample, he declined.

He was arrested and taken to the Flagler County jail, where he is being held on $15,000 bond. Davis has two previous arrests on minor charges. Two charges were dismissed. Two charges on a minor pot possession resulted in a pre-trial diversion program, which he completed in 2014.

    More like “a little uncommon sense”! Such incredible ignorance and absolutely no (shown) empathy to the obvious damage done. SMH………That is a small example of the world we live in, more importantly, the mindset of our very neighbors. Now for a logical adult comment on the article.

    As a mother, I could not imagine such a thing. There’s healing to be done on MANY levels. May God bless this entire family.

    What is it with these Black Men between the age of 18 and 25, perhaps we should get them off the street and put them in the military or some kind of Job Corp program.

    I think all you judgmental people should sweep your own front yard. You don’t know the whole story, what happened to judge and jury. I don’t think any of you have law degrees or juris doctorates. Poor judgment on both sides, but the young man did let Michael in his window. This has nothing to do with Black or white, the suspect’s is of both races, so now what? We were not present and don’t know if this young man fabricated this in order not to get in trouble with his mom.

    To KJM: You are right, we weren’t there. HOWEVER, I would like to know where in your mind is it ok for a 15 year old person and a 22 year old person to be naked together in one room…..regardless of sex or race. It is what the law calls lewd/lascivious behavior. It doesn’t matter if any part of this story was fabricated, the fact according to the mother is that both of these individuals were naked together in one room. Good lord I hope you are not a parent to a child.

    More to learn about what goes on behind closed doors. This person will be processed and maybe judge for his involvement with a minor. I do not condone his sexuality but I will not criticize him for it except that he chose a youngster for a partner. While I don’t share the same sexuality preferences, I do find it amazing how great people they are and have friendship between them. Anyways, if he is tried for the age thing and found guilty, as he should, so.be it. Now would be a great time for everyone to find out how many times this rendezvous has occurred. Maybe the 15 year old has already chosen his sexuality. Either way, he is a human being and should be treated as such.

    @Born and raised here says

    I’ve got three words for you, bubba: Jerry Lee Lewis! (And the 13 year old he “married” was his cousin.) Was he ‘passing’ or what? While you’re Googling that, check out the rumors about Donald Trump partying with underaged girls, so what was that about black men, again?

    People are either born heterosexual or homosexual. It’s not a choice, like they flipped a coin to decide.Good Lord, these ignorant comments…
