Flagler County Drug Court Convenes
Drug Court convenes before Circuit Judge Terence Perkins at 10 a.m. in Courtroom 401 at the Flagler County courthouse, Kim C. Hammond Justice Center 1769 E Moody Blvd, Bldg 1, Bunnell. Drug Court is open to the public. See the Drug Court handbook here and the participation agreement here.
The Seventh Judicial Circuit states: “Through an extensive supervision and treatment regimen, Drug Court programs adjudicate cases in which offenders are chronic substance abusers. Drug Courts require offenders to acknowledge their substance abuse problems and provide them with the tools and mechanisms to deal with their addictions. All of this is done in an effort to reduce or eliminate future criminal conduct. The Drug Court program uses a team approach to serve its participants. Team members include the judge, prosecutor, defense attorney, treatment specialists, supervision officers, law enforcement agencies, corrections officials and others. Once an offender successfully completes this intensive program, the Court may dismiss the charge, reduce the sentence or offer a combination of other incentives.”
