Held under the majestic oaks of Princess Place Preserve, the Creekside Festival is an annual tradition that celebrates the natural beauty of Northeast Florida with live bluegrass music, great food, arts and craft vendors and family friendly activities while raising money for the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce–and the county’s preservation efforts at Princess Place.

Drawing upwards of 15,000 guests each year, the Chamber-managed two-day festival offers exhibits and activities to appeal to all tastes. This year’s event is set for Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday, Oct. 12., with an appreciation for the area’s historical significance.

What’s the best way to enjoy the festival? Pack your lawn chair and a blanket, arrive early and leave late because there’s much to see, do and enjoy. In fact, there’s something for everyone at Creekside. Music fans will love the lineup of seven talented bluegrass bands over two days:

Saturday
10 AM to 10:45 AM Seminole Ridge
11 AM to 11:45 AM Andrews Family Band
Noon to 12:45PM New River Bluegrass
1 PM to 1:45 PM Seminole Ridge
2 PM to 2:45 PM Andrews Family Band
3 PM to 3:45 PM New River Bluegrass

Sunday
10 AM to 10:45 AM Aslyn and the Nay Sayers
11 AM to 11:45 AM Passerine
Noon to 12:45 PM Sam Pacetti
1 PM to 1:45 PM Aslyn and the Nay Sayers
2 PM to 2:45 PM Passerine
3 PM to 3:45 PM Wild Shiners

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy exploring nearby hiking trails, taking a kayak tour or fishing in the salt marshes along the Matanzas River and Pellicer Creek. The festival should definitely attract more history buffs this year, thanks to a partnership with the Heritage Crossroads Festival, a new and permanent addition to Creekside. Here, guests can enjoy historical demonstrators and exhibits that tell the story of our region’s rich heritage, while giving Princess Place the historical recognition it deserves.

If live music, a beautiful setting to explore and educational opportunities were not enough, visitors to the festival can browse the festival’s arts and crafts booths, watch children burn off some energy, enjoy a delicious meal or snack al fresco, and tour the hunting lodge. Flagler Parent Magazine will be back with a kids’ zone with inflatables, and the Flagler Home Builders Association will sponsor an expo of home-related products and services.

Noteworthy new additions to the festival include a pumpkin patch sponsored by Cowart Farms, a local produce stand courtesy of LocalFare and a scarecrow contest sponsored by Bunnell Feed & Supply. For more information or to sign up for the contest, visit the Creekside web page.

The Creekside Festival will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per carload per day. Visit the Chamber’s website or call 386/437.0106 for more information.
