Man Suspiciously Taking Pictures and Video of Young Children at F-Section Bus Stop

Sept. 15 update: Police concluded the girl lied about the suspicious man. See the story here.

The 10-year-old girl first noticed the man on Friday, then again on Monday: he sits in his silver Sport Utility Vehicle and takes pictures and video of the girl and other children waiting for their school bus at the intersection of Forest Hill Drive and Friar Way, in the heart of Palm Coast’s F-Section.

When the bus picks up the children, the man follows the bus all the way to Old Kings Elementary School. He is not a parent: children report that he does not drop off any children at the bus stop. And they are aware of him enough that they speak about him on the bus.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is now asking the public’s help to identify the man, who is reportedly dark-colored, possibly black, in his early 20s. The girl who reported his activity said she believes he is covering his face–and knows he is taking picture because she sees the flash go off inside his vehicle.

The incidents have been taking place just after 8 a.m. The man parks his SUV down the street from the girl’s house on Folcroft Lane–then follows her as she walks to the bus stop. ” The subject has not approached or spoken to any of the children,” an incident report states. The girl noted a Hillary Clinton campaign sticker on the car.

The girl notified her parents who then contacted the sheriff’s office. In a Facebook post this morning, the sheriff’s office wrote: “The Sheriff’s Office needs citizens to be good witnesses so we can find this man to interview him about what he may have been doing. If you see something, say something: Call the FCSO immediately if you have any information about this person and his actions. You can help by being observant: Be able to provide a detailed description of his vehicle – make and model and any more distinguishing features. We need a good description of the subject himself – hair, height/weight, eye color, clothing.
If you have any information about this man, please call the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office at 386-313-4911.”

Dark colored, possibly black? Hey, maybe Colin Kaepernick is visiting Palm Coast to investigate the injustices of school children. It would be about as valid an argument as the one he currently espouses.

I am glad that the girl finally told about him. I hope that he is questioned by the Sheriffs department and scared off. How scary is that for the children just trying to get an education. He sounds like a potential threat.

Parent’s need to take more responsibility for there child’s safety. You should never leave your child at a bus stop by themselves.

If my children were at this bus stop I would be guarding the corner with a baseball bat. It’s that easy.
