Patrick Amaral, a 29-year-old Palm Coast resident and father of a toddler, was killed in an apparent suicide Friday evening as he laid himself in the center lane of I-95 and was struck by two cars.
William Carl Styffe, who was accused of trying to rob Hancock Bank in Palm Coast and robbing a Sun Trust Bank in Ormond Beach on Aug. 30, then a Compass Bank in St. Johns County a few days later, died over the weekend subsequent to injuries he sustained during a suicide attempt at the Volusia County Branch Jail on Sept. 18.
Joshua Schmidt Roberson, 23, shot himself in the head in a construction lot on Palm Coast’s Pleasant Drive early Friday morning after a brief stand-off with deputies, and after calling 911 five times in tears, but refusing help.
A man in his early 50s who would only say that his name is “Jim” jumped from the Flagler Beach bridge after 9 p.m. Tuesday evening, but was rescued by a fisherman who jumped after him. The man had been riding an unmarked motorcycle with a shaved off VIN number.
The public suicide took place just before 4 p.m. Sunday at the foot of the Nautilus condos, where the victim, who had depression issues, lived with his parents.
Mike Saunders, 28, was found dead in his car in the Walmart parking lot Wednesday, of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning. He had been at the wheel of the same car, with Mochael Testa, when Testa was arrested near Marvin’s Gardens the day before–and escaped from a cop car.
Jeffrey Biermann, 41, was found by workers Friday morning, with a gun next to him. The sports complex was closed.
Jane Allen, a 50-year-old resident of Oakmont Ct. in Palm Coast, fell to her death from the Hammock Dunes Bridge in early evening Saturday, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
