Circuit Judge Terence Perkins today sentenced Brian Scott Wirth, 40, to life in prison on numerous counts of raping, abusing and humiliating his three children over many years, from the time they turned 5 or 6. Wirth had pleaded guilty and was hoping for a 35-year sentence.

Teisha Silva Rosado, eldest daughter of Zuheily Rosado, who was murdered six and a half years ago, took the stand just before the sentencing of Joseph Bova today, describing her mother to a courtroom that until then had only known Rosado as a name.

Circuit Judge Dennis Craig spoke heartfully and at length of the senselessness of 29-year-old Vitaly Tsabak’s burning of a family home before sentencing him to what proved to be a remarkably lenient 20-year term.
