Walk for Jennifer Barnett, May 11 in Flagler Beach

| April 28, 2013

jennifer-barnettRochelle Stone writes: “My friend Jennifer Barnett suffered from a brain stem stroke on February 4th. She has two young boys. She used to live in Flaler County, she was a teacher at Mantazas High School and Princess Place. I am having a walk for her on May 11th across from the Flagler Beach water tower.”

The event is free, accepting donations only. There will be a raffle that will take place at the walk. Tickets are $5 or five tickets for $20. Her husband and son will be at the event. “It is a great way to get the word out for the signs of a stroke,” Stone writes. “Jennifer is only 28 and normally you would think of stroke victims of an older age, but not in this case, nor many others.”

See below for details about the walk.

  1. Jennifer worked for us at Jobs for Florida’s Graduates where she taught JFG students at Princess Place and Matanzas High School. Her students were as devoted to her as she was to them. She has a kind and fun way about her that made her students feel like she would always be there for them; no matter what. I am thrilled that the Stone family is showing Jennifer that Flagler County is there for her; no matter what.
