Brandy Bookamer, 27, was attacked Sunday evening (May 5) by what were reported to be five pit bulls as she and her six-year old daughter walked near their home on Holly Lane in Daytona North, also known as the Mondex.

Howard Berry, 53, a resident of 1696 Rosewood Street, was taken to Halifax Hospital Tuesday evening with a gunshot wound to the head after he had been “messing around with a gun,” he told cops, after an argument with his wife.

Kathy MacDonald married Robert “Bobby” MacDonald less than a year ago. Flagler Sheriff Don Fleming said an investigation is continuing into the suspicious shooting, with no conclusive evidence yet on whether she shot herself, or whether her husband is involved.

Henry Brock broke through a bedroom window where his brother was asleep with Henry’s ex-girlfriend. An assault ensued, then Henry apparently shot himself to keep from going to jail. It didn’t work.

The fire between Mother Seton Catholic church and Cypress Point Parkway started at 4 .m. and burned close to 10 acres. Division of Forestry crews were burning more ground this morning on purpose, to prevent flare-ups. A section of Cypress Point Parkway was closed.
