Beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, motorists and other travelers should expect a lane closure along eastbound Palm Coast Parkway beginning at the Palm Coast Ford dealership, the Palm Coast administration said in an advisory today.

The lane closure is required in order for the contractor to install a trench drain from Cypress Point Parkway eastbound to the I-95 Southbound on ramp. Traffic will merge down to two travel lanes. The right turn lane will be open to Cypress Point Parkway.

The outside through lane will be closed for approximately eight weeks. During the installation, two lanes eastbound and the I-95 southbound on ramp will remain open.

The anticipated lane closure date of July 30 is subject to change. Up-to-date lane closure information will be posted to the Palm Coast Parkway Widening Project website at www.PalmCoastPkwy.com. A project hotline number has been established to assist the public with questions and concerns: 1-800-515-9194.

The City of Palm Coast strives for safe construction zones. Travelers need to be aware of heavy equipment and stay within the limits of the orange cones and barrels. The City asks for the cooperation and patience of residents as this important road improvement project is completed.

Widening this Parkway to end anyway in the Hammock Dunes bottle neck..? Ridiculous. We actually didn’t really need this PC Parkway widening…now. All to benefit the Palm Harbor Shopping Center developer? and/or any official or administrator as major project completed during their tenure for their resumes? Instead why don’t they time the red lights in the PC Parkway that makes us stop on every single light wasting gas and time, other than being coordinated like are in every other city I known, from east to west and vice versa.
