Anne Risley, 2011 Employee of the Year: Transportation

For the past seven years I have had the privilege of working in the Transportation Department for Flagler County Schools. I began driving our precious cargo to and from school in 2004. When given the opportunity to learn the inner workings of this vital department, I realized that this was my opportunity to give back to my community and the district I have called home since 1976. I began my position as router in 2005. I enjoy working as a part of a fantastic team of professionals dedicated to the safe transport of over 10,000 students a day, traveling 1,421,433 miles a year ensuring that our children travel to and from school in the safest manner possible. Having a nine year old daughter of my own, I am keenly aware of the importance of this department in support of our students, parents, schools and staff. Flagler County School District is home to a wonderful group of educational professionals, and I am honored to work with each and every one of you.
