Deborah Breeding, 2011 Teacher of the Year: Bunnell Elementary School
FlaglerLive | January 13, 2011
I am a fourth grade teacher at Bunnell Elementary. Bunnell is an excellent school. I consider myself lucky to work with such a terrific group of dedicated and experienced teachers. I am entering my ninth year as a classroom teacher. During my career, I have taught at both the high school and elementary levels. At the high school level I worked as a classroom specialist for the Jobs for Delaware Graduates program, a school to work transition program aimed at teaching skills necessary to be successful in the work place. My family and I moved to Orlando, Florida from the small state of Delaware in October 2002. In 2004, I received my Master’s degree in Elementary Education and began my career as a third grade teacher in Osceola County. My family made the move from Orlando to Palm Coast in 2005 and Bunnell Elementary became my home away from home. I absolutely love living here. Bunnell reminds me of the small town in Delaware, where I used to live. I’ve always loved the ocean so I visit Flagler Beach as often as possible. I have a very supportive husband, Scott, and two awesome boys, Aaron and Josh. In my spare time I love to watch my youngest son play baseball, take in a movie with my 18-year old, and motorcycle riding with my husband.
